Mural “El Quijote en el Guernica”, March 2017 by Curro Leyton. This mural can be found on the wall of the public school “María Espinosa” and it is number forty-three of the mural´s route in Estepona.
This young artist, Curro Leyton, was born in Malaga and he has been awarded several international recognitions. He also has his own art gallery in Estepona. The sizes of the mural are 12 wide and 6 metres in height, and it has been painted in monochromatic colours.
In this mural, you can see a famous representation of the picture “El Guernica” that was created by Pablo Ruiz Picasso. Curro Leyton introduces the original character of Miguel de Cervantes, Don Quixote, to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the most important picture of Spanish culture. He did it with elegance and respect, with the intention of letting people appreciate the work of art of both talented artists.
With this mural, the artist tries to inspire the future generations to support love and reject war.
